Accounting Clerk (Public Transit Sector) Non-Safety Sensitive
Citibus is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support the Finance & Administration Department by processing financial transactions, reconciling revenue, maintaining accounting records, and ensuring compliance with public transit funding and reporting requirements. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with numbers and wants to help keep public transportation moving efficiently.
Compensation: $19.00–$20.00 per hour (DOE), plus benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred)
- Minimum of two years of bookkeeping or accounting clerk experience (public sector, municipal government, or logistics experience preferred)
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to accurate financial recordkeeping
Primary Responsibilities
- Reconcile daily fare revenue, including cash and mobile payment transactions
- Process accounts payable for fuel, vehicle parts, maintenance, and other operational expenses
- Track and code expenditures associated with federal, state, and local transit grants
- Maintain financial records supporting National Transit Database (NTD) reporting and other regulatory requirements
- Organize financial documentation for internal and external audits
- Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Vehicle Maintenance Technician (Safety-Sensitive)
Citibus is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to perform inspections and preventive maintenance checks on transit vehicles to ensure they meet safety, operational, and regulatory standards. This safety-sensitive position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and reliable fleet.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of six months of mechanical experience (experience with buses or heavy-duty trucks preferred)
- Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 90 days of hire
- Ability to safely perform mechanical inspections and work in a maintenance environment
- Ability to read technical manuals, follow written and verbal instructions, and perform basic mathematical calculations
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of transit vehicles, including engines, drivetrains, brakes, wheelchair lifts, interiors, exteriors, undercarriages, and related systems
- Ensure vehicles comply with safety, emissions, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and report maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Maintain a safe work environment while following Citibus policies and procedures
- Participate in training and support special events as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Passenger Specialist (Bus & Van Operator)

Citibus offers full-time and part-time opportunities operating fixed-route buses throughout Lubbock and the Texas Tech University campus, as well as CitiAccess paratransit vans providing transportation for eligible passengers.
Compensation
- CDL Operators: Up to $18.00 per hour
- Non-CDL Operators: Up to $15.50 per hour (paid CDL training provided)
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available

Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain or maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for bus operator positions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and criminal background check
- Commitment to operating vehicles safely and professionally
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers on fixed-route buses or CitiAccess vans
- Provide courteous, dependable customer service
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures
- Assist passengers as needed, including those with disabilities
- Maintain compliance with all DOT and Citibus policies and procedures
